We're celebrating our marriage with a beach party.
We're hosting activities Thursday for skateboarders, Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning.
Everything is casual. Be comfortable. Wear beach clothes. We are. We hope you'll join us.
On the Ocean City page, we suggest water sports and activities you might want to arrange in advance, as well as
sites and excursion for any extra days you spend on the island.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
We're renting a van and spending the day skateboarding at
FDR Skatepark in Philadelphia.
FDR is designed and built by skateboarders.
With features like the
Dome, a four-foot wall of concrete that climbs up into a burly overhang; the
bunker, a 60-foot long,
11-foot vertical brick coping that grinds real nice and keeps the place private from the road,
this park is a serious challenge for skaters of all skill levels. It's also beer friendly.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
Boardwalk food is on the menu. At a local boardwalk restaurant, we'll serve traditional boardwalk junk food. Get your stomach in shape. There's a reason
Jersey girls are pudgy! Our traditional junk food includes:
- • Taylor Pork Roll
- • Sausage & peppers
- • Cheesesteak
- • Boardwalk fries
- • Kohr's Soft Serve
- • Johnson's Caramel Popcorn
- • George's Macaroons
- • Funnel Cake
- • Chocolate Covered Oreos
Following dinner, we'll head to one of the many miniature golf courses where we're hosting a cut-throat golf tournament. We'll have team sign-ups at dinner
for everyone who wants to play.
If you still have energy, the rides and arcades are open until 11pm. Go for it.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9
Beach Day
This is a beach day. You'll find us at the beach between 17th and 18th streets. We'll provide beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. You bring your suit, hat and favorite sunscreen.
Spend as much time at the beach as you wish, but make sure you're there at 2pm for South Jersey's favorite pizza — Manco and Manco. We're having plenty of pies delivered
to the 18th street house, just a few steps from the sand.
Crab Feast
Saturday night, we'll take a party bus off the island to a restaurant for a Maryland crab feast. Eating steamed blue fin crabs will be an new experience for many of you.
You eat with your hands. It's messy and finger-licking good. Wear old clothes. You might want to toss them out rather than bring them home. And don't worry. There'll be
plenty of other food, if eating crabs isn't your thing.
SUNDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 10
Homemade donuts and Jennifer's scones are an Ocean City tradition. We'll serve them for breakfast at the 17th street house, where a coffee truck will be parked
in the driveway.
